The time we ran in cowboy boots

What's the best way to celebrate the completion of the marathon?  4 weeks later, after not even running once, to run the Butch Cassidy 10K dressed from head to duct tape boot covered toe like Butch Cassidy!  perfect way!  This course is Beautiful!!   We had so much fun running down the road shooting our cap guns at each mile and trying to hold people up as they passed us.  Ok, so maybe we got a little hot, but it was worth it.  Maybe my knee hurt and we may have come in close to last, but it was worth it.  We (me and Lexie little) didn't even make it there in time for the costume contest.  What?  Can you believe they would do it without us?  Our friends even ask them to wait for us....  bummered.  We were glad Lexi Cutler won, but we would have liked to give her some competition and put on a good show ya know.  It was Lexi's idea to dress up anyway.  We decided yesterday and immediately met at the thrift store to shove all the Butch Cassidy garb we could fit into 2 bags for 5$  ...  oh ya!! Score!   That night Lexie Little and April made us the amazing duct tape boot covers for our shoes and April picked us all up some cap guns (best investment ever).  ok.  So it was most of our slowest time ever, but we were celebrity.  People ask to get their picture with us and told us we looked awesome. (which we did).   The perfect ending was to ride out of there...  19 of us, shoved in the back of MaryAnn's dad's cabbed truck!  I got to be on the tailgate and I'm just happy to be alive right now!  Ha ha..  no it wasn't that bad, only going up hill..  Thanks for another great race Butch fish..  ha ha

I'm sure we annoyed people when we boxed out at the front of the starting line.  I can honestly say, I've never done that before... 

Had to stop for a picture on the bridge. Thanks nice person who offered to stop and take our pic!! some people really get it!

flashback Friday

Today I was cleaning out my garage and I came across the 20 mile posters that Ebbi and Lexi made.  I realized we didn't get them all posted on here and they are so great..  so hopefully here are some we missed.  Flash back to  what happened on the sand dunes road.  I'm never going to go on that road without remembering all the long runs and other great things that happened on that road!! The good the bad and the ugly!  It's our road!

 

 

 

PS...  I haven't ran since the marathon.  Now I'm scared to...  I don't know why.  I'm signed up for the butch Cassidy next week, so I guess I better try sometimes soon.  =)  I really miss it.
